Pakistani imam used TikTok to propagate terror in France

 

A Pakistani national imam reportedly used TikTok to spread a pro-terrorism ideology in France, WION reports.

Imam Luqman Haider reportedly published three TikTok videos which French officials have considered to promote terrorism. The Imam was reportedly sentenced to 18 months in jail for his incitement of violence, according to WION.  

Luqman arrived in France in 2015 and occasionally served as an imam at a mosque in Villiers-le-Bel, a commune in northern Paris.

In the three videos in question, Luqman reportedly condoned the Charlie Hebdo shooting in 2015, saying that Muslims "are willing to sacrifice themselves for the prophet".

Another of the videos, he supported the act of "attacking non-Muslims and disbelievers" and "sending them to hell."

A third video was a tribute to a Pakistani terrorist who was wounded in September after he stabbed four people outside the Charlie Hebdo offices.

"From the moment you find him guilty on the 25th, given that he has no right to be in France with two obligations to leave the territory, it seems reasonable both for public opinion, I think, and for him to understand as well," Luqman's lawyer, Xavier Nogueras, said.

French President Emmanuel Macron said that Frances fight against terrorism is "existential," in a speech following a decapitation of a teacher who showed their class a caricature of Muhammed.

"This is our battle and it is existential. They will not succeed … They will not divide us," Macron said after police had shot dead the suspect in the gruesome killing.
