EU wants complete suspension of visa deal with Russia

The European Union wants to completely suspend the visa agreement with Russia.

Prague - This was announced by EU Commission Vice President Josep Borrell on Wednesday afternoon. "We have seen a significant increase in border crossings from Russia to neighboring countries. This is becoming a security risk," Borrell said.

"We therefore agree today with the EU foreign ministers on a complete suspension of the EU-Russia agreement on visa facilitation," said the EU foreign policy chief. In the run-up to the meeting, Borrell had demanded, in addition to the visa issue, that three key points must be maintained: "Support Ukraine, put pressure on Russia and deal with the wider consequences of this war, which affects the whole world."
