"Decadence - Cheering into the downfall" - A film by Imad Karim
Lebanese-German director, screenwriter and television journalist Imad Karim described his film "Decadence - cheering into the downfall" as a description of the absurd state in which Europe and especially Germany are. The film is an entertaining journey through the contemporary history of post-war Germany. It tells of the “long march of the socialists through the institutions” and the warnings against it by FJ Strauss, it also talks of German unity, the republic that has moved to the left and of the creeping loss of the values of the Enlightenment.
He started filming in 2016 and had to break it off in 2017 due to the intensive filming costs. At the end of 2020 he decided to continue shooting after reading the essay “Left Ideology Fun Park before bankruptcy” by the Austrian author Werner Reichel. Werner Reichel kindly, contributed to the film which was finished on April 25, 2021.
