Poland wants to pay for the return of migrants

Poland's Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki (PiS) has agreed to pay for the repatriation of migrants on the border with Belarus. His country has the money and good diplomatic relations with Iraq and other Middle Eastern countries, from which most of the immigrants came, he said on Sunday in Tallinn, according to the dpa news agency.

He is also considering closing further border crossings with Belarus in order to increase the economic pressure on the local Prime Minister Alexander Lukashenko. Two weeks ago Morawiecki had already closed the crossing in the village of Kuznica.

Morawiecki: We won't let ourselves be blackmailed
He addressed the European citizens in a video message published on Facebook. “I turn to you because Europe - our common home - is in danger. At this moment a hybrid war is taking place on the Polish-Belarusian border .” Lukashenko declared war on the entire EU with the secret support of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The situation at the border is not just a migration crisis, but also a political one that serves to destabilize the EU. Today Poland is the target of attacks from Belarus, tomorrow it could be Germany, warned the PiS politician. His country will not allow itself to be blackmailed and will defend the external border.
