The Interchangeability of Equity and Merit
I thoroughly examined the use of “equity” (an undefined term used by Leftists starting from the top [Obama, Biden, Harris, corporations, academics] to the low-life’s [BLM, Antifa]) in regards to whom is deserving of accolades and for blame. So for the purposes of this article I will not analyze this, but I will merely draw the conclusion:
Ability of the mind (ex. academic placement, academic grading, job placement, job performance)- equity is required to reward the less-deserving/less-qualified
Ability of the body (ex. athletics)- merit is required to reward the more-deserving/more-qualified
If you notice, there is never discussion about “equity” for (for example) the NBA or the NFL; with them, it is 100% merit. But when it comes to academics and job placement, merit is “racist”.
So if it is consistency of principles that you seek amongst the powerful, well, you will be disappointed; they have no principles other than money and power. And them supporting whomever can get them more money and power (even if it is by domestic terrorists), then that is what they will do.
