IS criminals instead of refugees: Iraqi is deported

Berlin - The Berlin Administrative Court has confirmed the deportation of a young IS criminal to Iraq. There is a danger for the Federal Republic of the migrant, said the authority. In the course of the proceedings, the young man had resisted a corresponding decision by the State Office for Immigration.

The Iraqi traveled to Germany with relatives in 2015. Due to incorrect information in the asylum procedure, the entire family received refugee status.

Iraqi involved in execution
Later, a completely different picture emerged: other immigrants from the country recognized both the young person and his father from a propaganda video by the Islamic terrorist militia and contacted the German authorities. The film shows the “high-visibility execution of a high-ranking Iraqi officer” by IS fighters after the city of Mosul was taken in 2014.

The Berlin Court of Appeal then sentenced the young man in June 2021 to several years of youth imprisonment for “war crimes, aiding and abetting murder and membership in a terrorist organization”. Even after he entered the Federal Republic, he committed serious acts of violence. Among other things, he is said to have intimidated witnesses and distributed video sequences of the execution.
