Special Olympics and DIE

Written by John (the other John).

The Special Olympics is an event in which competitors who suffer from physical and/or mental disabilities compete in athletic events for awards and accolades. The competitors clearly do not have the ability of actual Olympians, but the Special Olympics serves the altruistic purpose of making these individuals feel good about themselves, and in turn we feel good about ourselves too. We cheer them on, and give them hope that they are true winners in competition.

As good as this makes us feel, deep down we feel sorry for them, as we know that their performance is severely subpar. How this relates to our everyday lives is that DIE (diversity intrusion equity) follows the same principles as mentioned above. The DIE people clearly do not have the ability of other people, but DIE serves the purpose of making these individuals with limitations feel good about themselves, and in turn we feel good about ourselves too. We cheer them on, and give them hope that they are true winners in academics/employment. As good as this makes us feel, deep down we feel sorry for them, as we know that their performance is severely subpar.

The main difference between those orchestrating the Special Olympics and those orchestrating DIE, is that those with the Special Olympics do not allow those competitors to compete with actual Olympians NOR to replace the actual Olympians because their performance is severely inferior, whilst those orchestrating DIE want to replace the actual talented people with DIE candidates even though their performance is severely inferior.

So tell me, which leadership group suffers from diminished capacity?
