Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk uses drastic words to warn of an impending war in Europe

Warsaw - "I know it sounds devastating, especially for the younger generation, but we have to get used to the fact that a new era has begun: the pre-war period" said Tusk to Welt. "I'm not exaggerating; it's becoming clearer every day," he added. "I don't want to scare anyone, but war is no longer a concept from the past," Tusk continued. "It's real, and it started over two years ago. What's most worrying right now is that literally any scenario is possible. We haven't seen a situation like this since 1945." At the same time, Tusk said he was “already observing a real revolution in the European mentality.” During his first time as prime minister from 2007 to 2014, no one except the Baltic states listened to his warnings.

"When I said that Russia was a problem for Europe, not a partner, people shrugged their shoulders: Sure, a Pole, a Russophobe." Now he is observing the changes in all European capitals “without satisfaction”. "The most important thing is that no one questions anymore that we have to defend ourselves together. Look at Germany, a huge change has taken place there. Today the CDU and SPD are competing to see which of them is more pro-Ukrainian."
