Sweden: Family father shot dead by youth gang

In Sweden, a father was shot dead in the presence of his son after resisting a youth gang.

The incident happened in broad daylight in a suburb of Stockholm as the 39-year-old and his 12-year-old son were on their way to the swimming pool. The father was attacked by the gang and he was shot in the head and died the next day.

No suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident at this time. Sweden's Prime Minister Ulf Kristerson and opposition leader Magdalena Andersson visited the crime scene and condemned the increasing gang crime in the country.

Sweden has experienced a sharp increase in gang crime in recent years, particularly in the wake of mass immigration, with bloody conflicts over drug and weapons trafficking. Young people are often recruited for violent crimes because they cannot be prosecuted. Last year, 363 gun attacks were reported, leaving 53 people dead, and there were 149 bombings.
