Religion of Peace: I Have Proof

Written by John (the other John).

We are often indoctrinated by various political forces that Islam is the “religion of peace”, for which many people have doubts. So I did some research, and I found some preliminary evidence that this may be true. I found a quote that was used by two past US Presidents (George W Bush and Balak Hussein Osama), which they said that it came from the Koran. With this quote, I began to lean towards the belief that Islam may in fact be the “religion of peace”. The quote by Bush and Osama is as follows:

...that if any one slew a person..it would be as if he slew the whole people; and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people...

The quote on its surface is self-evident that peace is a goal to be aspired, and violence must be avoided at all costs. After all, Bush and Osama were two very honest people, surely they would always tell the truth. So from this evidence of the peacefulness of Muslims began a plan of trafficking in people from Muslim nations en masse.

But then I wanted to research this further, so I searched for this quote in the Koran (found in Surah 5, verse 32), but it was not quite the same quote that Bush and Osama spoke. The quote in the Koran says:

We ordained for the children of Israel that if any one slew a person- unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land- it would be as if he slew the whole people; and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people. Then although there came to them our Messengers with clear signs, yet, even after that, many of them continued to commit excesses in the land.

What exactly do the other words mean in this quote? What is “spreading mischief in the land” and “excesses in the land”? My research found that “mischief” and “excesses” means that people who are not Muslim; hence, non-Muslims commit “mischief” and “excesses” due to their lack of Islamic beliefs.

So these non-Muslims are thus exempted from the peaceful quote spoken by Bush and Osama. (Can this be right???).

So let us proceed to the very next paragraph (Surah 5, verse 33), which says:

The punishment of those who wage war against God and his messenger, and strive with might and main for mischief through the land is: execution, or crucifixion, or the cutting off of hands and feet from opposite sides, or exile from the land: that is their disgrace in this world, and a heavy punishment is theirs in the hereafter.

So those who practice “mischief” (i.e., non-Muslims) shall be either executed, or have their hands and feet cut off, or exiled from the land. Ouch! How is that “peace”? Cut off the heads, hands, feet Perhaps they mean the “religion of pieces”.

So once again, establishment politicians lied to me again.
