“Before I Express My Opinion, I Just Want To Say That I Am Not Racist”

Written by John (the other John).

Have you ever been debating with a Leftist about race and you said “before I express my opinion, I just want to say I am not a racist” or “I have many black friends, however….”; basically, you laid down pre-conditions prior to making for your pending statement. If you ever said this, you already lost the debate before you ever said anything of substance. The Leftist will automatically think you are “racist”, and the Conservative will automatically you think you are weak. The point being, if you ever have to justify your basic right to even state a position, you lose; if you have something to say, then just say it. Just make sure you are knowledgeable on the topic, and that you are prepared to address any and all “devil’s advocate” positions that your adversary may throw your way.
