Germany: another girl stabbed to death by an asylum seeker

LÜNEBURG. In the case of the murdered 19-year-old Jana D., the district court of Lüneburg issued an arrest warrant for murder against the friend of the victim, Fares A. "It is true that the accused and the victim had a relationship," said a spokeswoman to Bild newspaper. Friends around the victim told the newspaper that the young woman and the suspect had been a couple since 2019.

The alleged murderer had not commented on the charge or a possible motive to the judge. The father found the body on Tuesday morning in a car near the Lower Saxony city of Lüneburg, the police said. She had been stabbed. Shortly afterwards, the 19-year-old suspect was arrested.

According to Bild, the 22-year-old man had previously molested his future victim and had therefore already been expelled from his place of residence. The asylum seeker entered Germany in 2016. However, he only received a tolerance and had to leave the country by April 6 of this year.
