The German Association of Cities and Towns fears the loss of half a million commercial jobs

Berlin - "We have the serious fear that we will no longer recognize our inner cities after the pandemic," said the chief executive of the association, Gerd Landsberg, to Bild. The trade association now expects that 82,000 retail stores will not reopen, said Landsberg: "That corresponds to 450,000 jobs." The federal government and the federal states should therefore accelerate the vaccination rate, said Landsberg.

"Give a lot more vaccines to the family doctors. They know their patients. They can advise them much more individually because they know the previous illnesses."
