Woman is sexually harassed by Somali refugee on a train in Berlin


On April 23 morning, a 25-year-old molested a woman on a train of the S-Bahn S46 line. Witnesses intervened and held the man until the police arrived at the Grünau S-Bahn station.

As the federal police announced on Monday, the Somali national sat down next to a woman around 8:40 a.m. after the S-Bahn departed from Königs Wusterhausen station and groped her on the thigh and in the genital area. The 30-year-old tried to push the man's hand away and yelled for him to stop.

A witness (56) noticed the attack and came to the woman's aid. The reaction of the 25-year-old! He kicked the witness in the shin.

When security staff from Deutsche Bahn AG boarded, they held the 25-year-old at the Grünau S-Bahn station until the police arrived. The 30-year-old Berliner and the 56-year-old witness refused medical treatment on site.

The federal police initiated investigations into sexual harassment against the 25-year-old, who was already known to the police and intoxicated (2.54 per thousand breath alcohol concentration). On Sunday, a judge ordered the man to be held in custody. Federal police officers then took the man to a correctional facility.
