Germany: Anti-right-wing initiative wants more money and recognition

The Federal Association of Mobile Counseling Against Right-Wing Extremism has complained about a “lack of recognition” of initiatives against the right-wing. "Many are defenseless against right-wing attacks and threats, are on right-wing 'enemy lists' without adequate support, or are exposed to state stigmatization," said association spokeswoman Grit Hanneforth in a statement.

"Today our work is more important than ever," Hanneforth continued. "This is shown by the right-wing terrorist murders of recent years as well as the right-wing propaganda in parliaments." The mobile advice centers are often "the only ones who stand by the committed ones". In order to be able to "support them professionally" in the future, the association spokeswoman called for "planning security".

The Amdaeu Antonio Foundation also wants more money
Hanneforth called for "structural and long-term support for projects that have been successfully promoting democracy for many years" in the new "Democracy Promotion Act" that the governing coalition has announced for this year. "This includes us as mobile advice against right-wing extremism, but also victim and exit advice and the associated three federal associations."

In March, the Amadeu Antonio Foundation (AAS) formulated how it believed the “Democracy Promotion Act” should be designed. This also included demands for unlimited project financing.
