The German government operates more than 400 social media accounts


The federal government operates a total of 415 social media accounts.

Berlin - According to the answer to a request from the AfD parliamentary group, the Federal Ministry of the Interior is the leader with 134 accounts. However, two of them are said to be inactive. This is followed by the Federal Ministry of Defense with 54 accounts, the Federal Ministry of Health (35), the Federal Foreign Office and the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs (27 each), the Federal Ministry for the Environment (26) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs (22).

The Federal Ministry of Transport has 18 accounts, the Federal Ministry of Finance has 14, and the Federal Ministry of Justice and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture have eleven accounts each. The Federal Ministry of Building (6), the Federal Ministry of Labor (5), the Federal Ministry of Development (4) and the Federal Ministry of Education (3) have fewer than ten accounts. With few exceptions, most ministries are represented on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

The Ministry of Treasury and Ministry of Defense also have a Snapchat account, while the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Health have a Telegram account. The latter also has a Tik-Tok account.
