Homophobic attack during Christopher Street Day: asylum seeker is arrested


At Christopher Street Day in Münster on August 27, a 25-year-old man named Malte C. was the victim of a brutal attack on the sidelines of the parade. On Saturday evening at around 8:10 p.m., an unknown person knocked the young man to the ground on Albersloher Weg.

The perpetrator had insulted several participants in the parade and hurled homophobic statements at them. Then the 25-year-old stepped in. According to initial investigations, this is said to have provoked the attack.

The attacker punched Malte C. several times in the face, until the young man hit the ground with the back of his head, unconscious. He was unresponsive and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Now, almost a week later, the 25-year-old has died of his injuries.

CSD in Münster: Suspect caught by accident
On Friday (September 2nd) the Münster police caught a suspect (20) online. He is suspected of having attacked the 25-year-old.

After the incident, the investigators evaluated numerous witnesses and extensive image and video material.

As part of the search, a homicide detective recognized the suspect at the main train station and arrested him. The perpetrator turned out to be a Muslim from the Chechen Republic whose deportation had been delayed because of the war. Nuradi's father still lives in the Chechen Republic.
