Sweden: Migrant woman tortured for hours and nearly Burned over not being Virgin

 

 When the woman in Norrbotten did not bleed during intercourse with her new husband, she was subjected to prolonged abuse by the husband and his parents. They also threatened to burn her alive. This is according to a new indictment.

 

The couple married in their home country in 2021, but the woman did not come to Sweden until April 2022. Then, according to tradition, the marriage would be completed at a party at the man’s family, reports SVT Nyheter Norrbotten.

 

But during intercourse the bride did not bleed. The man and his mother interpreted this to mean that the woman was not a virgin before intercourse and that she had thus violated the family’s honor.

 

The woman was threatened and abused for several hours by the man and his parents. According to the indictment, she was beaten with hands and fists and had to receive kicks. She was threatened with a knife and to be tortured, taken out into the forest and burned alive. The family members are also said to have spat at the woman and used abusive language during the protracted beating.

 

The victim eventually managed to escape from the apartment and get help from passers-by.

 

The prosecutor believes that the issue of honor is an aggravating circumstance in the prosecution. According to him, the woman has been completely at the mercy of the family because she had recently moved to Sweden and did not know anyone else in the country.

 

– I mean that none of this would have happened if you hadn’t had this problem, says prosecutor Jonas Fjellström to SVT.

 

All three defendants deny wrongdoing.
