63 percent of Germans want easier immigration of foreign skilled workers


In view of the shortage of skilled workers in the country, a majority of those eligible to vote are in favor of facilitating the immigration of foreign skilled workers to Germany.

Berlin - 63 percent think that's right, 31 percent think that's wrong, according to a survey by Infratest for ARD. In order to counteract the shortage of skilled workers in various sectors, other measures are also being discussed: There is no majority among the citizens for a further increase in the retirement age from the current 67 years: 90 percent think that's wrong, 8 percent think that's right. At the same time, 91 percent are in favor of better pay in the relevant sectors; 6 percent find this wrong. Infratest carried out the survey from Monday to Wednesday of this week among 1,314 eligible voters for the ARD "Deutschlandtrend".
