Germany: ZDF journalist mocks dead Pope Benedict

The tasteless comment of a ZDF journalist about the dead Pope Benedict XVI causes outrage. Ironically, his employer broadcast the funeral service for the deceased head of the church.

Rome - The ZDF journalist Tristan Herold has mocked the late Pope Benedict XVI. "Haha. People you still know that when you forgot your lunch in your pocket over the summer holidays," he commented on Twitter on a picture of the laid-out body of the former head of the Catholic Church.

People on social media were shocked by the post. "Does it go any deeper than this Herold? Disgusting,” wrote one Twitter user, calling for reform of public broadcasting.
