Islamist terror attack prevented in Germany
The authorities announced this on Sunday afternoon. NRW Interior Minister Herbert Reul (CDU) had previously said that a "serious tip" was the reason for the access. During the measure, a 32-year-old Iranian was arrested on Sunday night for suspected attack plans.
According to the police and public prosecutor's office, he is suspected of having prepared a serious act of violence that is dangerous to the state. The authorities assumed that he procured cyanide and ricin to commit an Islamist-motivated attack. The search of the apartment should serve to find corresponding toxins and other evidence.
The accused and one other person were taken into custody.
