Münster - A 31-year-old man died of his injuries after a knife attack at the fair in Münster. On Saturday evening at the “Send” folk festival, he got into an argument with the previously unknown perpetrator, whereupon he stabbed, the police and public prosecutor of the North Rhine-Westphalian city said.

According to the descriptions, the argument took place at a carousel that was set up on the Schloßplatz (formerly Hindenburgplatz) . There the attacker pulled out a knife and stabbed his opponent.

Victim dies at the fair in Münster – perpetrator flees
The 31-year-old victim died on the spot after unsuccessful resuscitation measures. The perpetrator fled after the attack.

Officials described the attacker as about 1.80 meters tall, with black hair that was shaved short on the side. He was wearing light gray sweatpants and a hoodie of the same color.

Companion of the attacker should be "Southerner"
He should also not have been traveling alone, but accompanied. It was a man with a "Southern" appearance who, according to witnesses, was dressed in black, slim and athletic.

In May last year, a similar case in the Sauerland caused a stir. At that time, two visitors who were father and son got into a fight with six foreigners. The young men, described as "Southerners", then shot wildly and killed an apparently uninvolved 40-year-old.
