70 Million Americans Are Facing A Much Bigger Problem Than Trump

The US tourism decline is accelerating, and Princeton professor Eddie Glaude Jr. just explained why in a way I have not stopped thinking about. It's not Trump.

On Zeteo, Glaude said plainly what the rest of the world already knows. The American people voted for Donald Trump twice. They jeopardised the global economy. They made these choices collectively. The world doesn't trust Americans right now, not because of one man, but because of what millions of voters chose together.

From outside the US, this is the conversation I've been waiting for an American academic to have out loud. Glaude calls it a "toxic combination of greed, selfishness, and hatred" that has the country by the throat. Not a president. Not a party. A culture. And that culture is exactly what's showing up in the boycott America movement, the trade war fallout, and the collapse in public opinion driving the US tourism numbers we're all watching right now.

What struck me most was that he didn't stop at Donald Trump. He went straight at the Democratic Party too. Captured by corporate forces, too focused on political positioning while the rest of the world quietly adjusts. This is bigger than conservative politics versus progressive politics. This is an American accountability story.

The soft power damage here is serious. Even after Trump, that trust doesn't come back overnight. Two hundred and fifty years of American exceptionalism telling people they're above the rules doesn't just reset. The anti American sentiment spreading across global news isn't random. It's a verdict.

The world sees it clearly. Glaude sees it clearly. The question is whether the American people do. e-7124 (Foreign affairs) HOEKSTRA OUT PETITION
