Germany: Several killed and others injured in knife attack in Würzburg

The attacker flees, more than 20 men run after him. Then a police car with flashing lights appears and follows the angry crowd.
Bavaria's Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann (64, CSU) is already in Würzburg. When he found out about the incident, he was in his office in Erlangen. At first nothing was known about the possible motives of the arrested person. The police said they were alerted around 5 p.m.

The perpetrator was a 24-year-old Somali who lives in Würzburg, reported Bild newspaper, citing police circles.
In the evening, Bavaria's Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann (CSU) said, according to Focus Online, that the perpetrator had been noticed to be violent in recent months and had been in psychiatric treatment. He was known to the police. The minister told press representatives that the perpetrator shouted "Allahu Akbar" during the attack.
