Hungary's Minister of Justice: The imperial aspirations of Brussels must be stopped
The European Union institutions are obliged to respect the national identity, political and constitutional order of the member states, the Minister of Justice wrote on Facebook on Saturday .
Judit Varga responded by saying that the European Commission said on Thursday that the decision of the Polish Constitutional Court that certain provisions of the EU Treaty were incompatible with the Polish Constitution was a matter of serious concern.
The Minister wrote that in the majority opinion of the Polish Constitutional Court, it does not follow from EU membership that the European Court of Justice could override national constitutions or that Poland would have fully delegated its sovereignty to the European Union.
Welcoming the decision of the Polish Constitutional Court in his entry, the politician said: “the imperial aspirations of Brussels must be stopped”.
Judit Varga emphasized that, like Poland, sovereignty and self-determination were basic values in Hungary, which is why the Hungarian government stood up for our Polish friends in a resolution. “We fully understand the Polish response to the bad practice of the European Union institutions, which in turn violates the principle of delegation,” the post reads.
"The time has come for us to stand in the way of stealthy EU powers," they must not tie the sovereignty of the member states, "the justice minister said.
