REVEALED: Alec Baldwin's old tweets reveal ignorance, cruelty regarding guns and gun safety

Following the accidental shooting of his cinematographer, Baldwin's Twitter account was scoured by people across the internet. What they found was a history of anger and resentment.

On Thursday, news broke that actor Alec Baldwin had shot two people on the set of his new film in New Mexico. According to Variety, Alec Baldwin fired a prop gun on the set of Rust in New Mexico Thursday, accidentally killing cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza. Investigators say the prop gun was filled with two blank rounds.

Following the incident, many took to Twitter, scouring Baldwin's feed. Before long, tweets from as far back as 2017 were brought up and displayed alongside news of the actor's deed.

By far the most shared tweet was from September 2017, wherein Baldwin commented on the case of a Huntington Beach police officer who had shot and killed a man following a brief altercation.

"I wonder how it must feel to wrongfully kill someone...", Baldwin wrote.

Among the other tweets dug up were those in which Baldwin suggested someone should be shot, more than once referencing Dick Cheney, who he once called a "terrorist" for accidentally shooting someone while out hunting.

Just three days prior to the accidental shooting, Baldwin tweeted about what he thinks should befall those who participated in the January 6 riot. "All of the Insurrectionist/Terrorists should serve their sentences in Angola, Rikers, some horrible sh*thole prison," he wrote

Given his history, many are calling on Baldwin to be fired, and that he face the full repercussions of his actions.
