Berlin: Knife attack in the middle of rush hour


Berlin – Ostkreuz train station in the early morning. Berliners go to work, it's full. A man (29) stabs a passenger in the back from behind.

The victim (46) was waiting for his S-Bahn at around 6.40 a.m. on Tuesday. Suddenly someone bumped into him on the platform of the Ringbahn. Then the knife attack in the middle of rush hour.

The seriously injured man saved himself to the security staff of Deutsche Bahn. Security was able to catch the perpetrator and hold him until the federal police arrived.

The knife was later found in the track bed. The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics, then taken to a hospital.

The alleged perpetrator, an Iraqi, is already known to the police. When officers checked his personal details, they found that he had four warrants for his arrest for property crime and violation of the Narcotics Act.
