Always obedient: Most Germans shower less or for less time

The federal government's appeals to save water are apparently having an effect.

Berlin - According to a survey by the INSA institute for Bild, a large majority of Germans have changed their showering behavior in recent weeks. According to this, 44 percent of Germans now shower either for a shorter time or less frequently. 18 percent of Germans even take a shorter and less frequent shower.

On the other hand, 35 percent of respondents say they have not changed their behavior. 45 percent of Germans have already taken precautions for the coming winter or want to do so. This includes, for example, the purchase of emergency power generators.

On the other hand, 50 percent say they have not yet taken any precautions and do not intend to do so. For the survey, INSA interviewed 1,004 eligible voters on July 18.
