The cell phone data of Cristina Kirchner's attacker was lost and the weapon does not have his fingerprints

Investigators try to reconstruct steps and contacts of Cristina Kirchner's attacker, but it turned out that her phone would have been "factory reset". At the same time, the traces of the attacker were not found in the inspection of the Bersa gun, it is believed that because of the "handling" of the weapon in the midst of the tumult that followed the attack.

The investigation of the attack on Vice President Cristina Kirchner has stumbled upon the first stones : thus, despite the total secrecy that is attempted to be maintained around the issue, the details that emerged speak of the loss of valuable information from Fernando Sabag Montiel's cell phone, the young man who fired the gun at a short distance from the face of Vice President Cristina Kirchner, and regarding the Bersa pistol that he used in the attack, in the first reviews of the experts the weapon would not have found traces of the attacker, it is believed that because of the "groping" in the confusion and uproar that followed the serious episode, which would make forensics difficult.

The cell phone of Fernando Sabag Montiel, the attacker, and the weapon he used in the assassination attempt on the vice president were two of the fundamental elements in the investigation of the incident. However, both tests would have been contaminated and impaired.

Cell phone reset
The phone number of the alleged attacker of Cristina Kirchner, Fernando Sabag, was seized on the same Thursday given the possibility of finding more details and information about the attack on the vice president, its planning and the motive behind it.

The same night of the attack, Judge María Eugenia Capuchetti and her secretary Federico Clerc arranged for the information to be extracted. However, the procedure was hampered after a disconcerting message appeared on the device's screen: "Factory reset".

The cell phone first passed through the hands of the Federal Police, a force that tried to unlock it without success, and then reached the Airport Security Police, since they have a new generation information extraction system, although when they were summoned to access the phone discovered the disturbing alert.

With the endorsement of the court, a group of technicians had access to the device and, despite the fact that it is still blocked, they would have stated that it would be possible to recover some of the deleted information. In turn, it was possible to access the contacts registered on the SIM card.

It is worth mentioning that the transfer from the court to the PSA headquarters in Ezeiza was carried out by officials of the court itself. Likewise, members of the force recorded that the device arrived in an open envelope and with airplane mode on to avoid any interference.

For the moment, the judge asked the experts who intervened in the process to testify. The main hypothesis that is handled is that the repeated attempts by the Federal Police to access the cell phone without having the password resulted in a reset of the phone.

Gun without traces
In the attempted murder of Cristina Kirchner, the alleged attacker used a 0.32-caliber Bersa gun. In this sense, according to government sources revealed to Clarín, the weapon was stolen 10 days ago from the family of a friend of Fernando Sabag.

In any case, Sabag's relationship with the weapon was made more complex since it "did not have his fingerprints", they speculate that this is because in the tumult and chaos of the moment it was stepped on by several people.

The last owner of the weapon in question was a security employee named Herrera, who died about a year ago. The Bersa gun had been kept in suitcase with personal items, which, according to statements by the owner's sister, had disappeared about ten days ago.
