Sexualization of children: Berlin gets LGBTQ day care center

Berlin - Day-care center with an alternative concept: In Berlin-Schöneberg, homosexual, bisexual, intersex and trans people will soon be bringing up the children.

In January 2023, the gay counseling center in Berlin will open a day care center in the capital that will focus on tolerance and different ways of life. The "living place for diversity at Südkreuz", a planned open multi-generation house, is breaking new ground.

90 children are to be accommodated in two day-care centers on Ella-Barowsky-Straße. According to the website, the names of the groups have already been decided: "pink tigers" and the "yellow-green panthers".

"Schools and day-care centers still have difficulties when it comes to homosexuality and transgender and intersex issues in connection with children," it says. "We want to change that." Because the topic is not an exclusive one for adults only - it also concerns the "little ones among us". The aim and desire of those responsible is to encourage and encourage them on their way.

Children should "get to know other ways of life and worlds"
In this way, they should learn to respect people and nature. And "get to know other ways of life and worlds". That breaks down prejudices. This should also be taken into account when selecting the game and working materials. For example, there are ten ordinary children's books and three in which the prince marries a prince, says Marcel de Groot, the managing director of the gay counseling service.

All children are welcome, whether they come out later or not. Parents don't have to feel part of the community to get a place for their offspring in the day care center. There should already be 60 registrations.
