German climate gluer charged again: “Climate change is radical. Not me.”

The activist was already convicted in November for three adhesive blocks - on Friday five other cases were before the court.

It was only in November last year that climate gluer Helga H. (56) received a fine of 1,350 euros for coercion and resistance to law enforcement officials. For three adhesive blockades in Berlin in winter and spring.

The public prosecutor 's office had just investigated and charged the first three cases when the next files were already fluttering onto her table from new actions in June and July.

The results of the investigation, including penal orders, were now piled up on the judge's table. Helga H. could have paid for it – but apparently she didn't want to. She has appealed. And therefore now again the public hearing before the district court.

The accusation against the house painter (450-euro job) from Hesse: She is said to have blocked streets with like-minded people from the “Last Generation” group:

► On June 23, 2022, the intersection Frankfurter Tor/Karl-Marx-Allee (Friedrichshain)

► On June 30, 2022: Halenseestraße at Rathenauplatz (Grunewald)

► On June 21, 2022: The exit Tempelhofer Damm of the BAB 100.

► On July 1st, 2022: The Messedamm exit of the BAB 100.

► On July 4th, 2022: The connection point Beusselstraße / Goerdelerdammbrücke (Spandau).

And on Friday, too, the activist was still "incorrigible" despite the verdict in the first trial.

She said in court: “Climate change is radical. Not me.” She sat down on the street for the speed limit. Against packaging waste and species extinction... The only thing she can do is "civil disobedience".

She also unhesitatingly admitted to having taped herself multiple times. And agreed to the extrajudicial confiscation of two tubes of superglue found in her bag.

However, the judges see things differently: nobody has the right to instrumentalize third parties in order to draw attention to political goals, the judge said in the November verdict.

However, that was not the case yesterday: witnesses still have to be heard. The next hearing will be on February 17.
