Dirt Bike Gangs Tear Through Shopping Malls in France

Gangs of ‘youths’ riding motorcycles and ATVs have been terrorizing shoppers and diners at malls in France lately, according to reports.

Videos showing dirt bikers tearing through busy shopping centers have sparked outrage and concern amid an epidemic of dangerous “urban rodeos” unfolding constantly across France.

Recently, riders filmed themselves racing two-wheelers through an indoor mall in Grenoble, a city in the department of Isère, CNews reports.

The hoodlums can be seen dodging patrons while popping wheelies at high-speed in the busy corridors before exiting the complex.

During a similar episode days earlier, thugs raced over a narrow waterside walkway at The Village, an outdoor shopping and dining outlet in Villefontaine, a commune in Isère.

Around a dozen dirt bikers rode down a pedestrian pontoon in broad daylight, apparently unconcerned with potential accidents or consequences.

“All rodeos are very dangerous, and even more so when one goes into a shopping mall and crosses the crowd like that,” said Yannick Biancheri, spokesman for the Alliance Isère police union.

Videos of urban rodeos are often circulated on social media or featured in music videos.

More than 7,000 fines have been issued and at least 100 two-wheelers have been impounded in France since March 1, according to the Ministry of the Interior.

Rodeo perpetrators can reportedly face fines of up to 30,000 euros and two years in prison if convicted.
