“Last Generation” supporter charged with paint attacks on luxury destinations
Berlin - After several cases of property damage in Schleswig-Holstein, the Berlin public prosecutor's office has brought charges against a supporter of the "Last Generation". They accuse the now 20-year-old of having carried out paint attacks together with three other people in June last year, which caused property damage of more than 350,000 euros.
Within two weeks, the climate radical group attacked a private yacht in Neustadt in Holstein with a prepared fire extinguisher containing orange paint, vandalized a hotel bar on Sylt and sprayed a gallery facade. The ship alone suffered at least 250,000 euros in damage. The gallery and hotel bar suffered 68,000 euros and 37,000 euros in damage respectively.
The trial is to take place in the Tiergarten district court. Most recently, the judges there sentenced a 65-year-old member of the "Last Generation" to one year and ten months in prison. He took part in the association's street blockades on several occasions . The most recent case will be heard in Berlin because the accused was living in the capital at the time of the indictment, the public prosecutor's office announced.
