New jersey of the German team "should stand for colorful diversity"


BERLIN. The sportswear manufacturer Adidas wants to set a mark for diversity and diversity with the new shirt of the national team. Under the motto: "Different Beats Build A Nation's Heart." The German Football Association (DFB) and Adidas presented the new clothing for the naitonal team on Monday.

The DFB team stand for "teamwork" and "unity in diversity", which should now also be reflected on the new jersey, which will bear the national team at the European Championship next year. The shirt is held in the traditional white of the DFB-Elf with hand-painted black pinstripes. On the left chest is the DFB logo with the federal eagle and the four world champion stars above.

Sign of cosmopolitan and colorful community
At the sleeve cuffs are also the black and red gold national colors. According to Adidas, they should stand for "diversity in the Federal Republic" and "represent the diversity of Germany and the different roots of the players and fans". The jersey was not only a garment, "but also a statement for the values ​​of the German national team and the attachment to their supporters - for a modern, cosmopolitan and colorful community and the integrative power of sport.

DFB director Oliver Bierhoff was enthusiastic about the new shirt. "I like the jersey. Tradition and modernity are well connected here, our partner Adidas has done a great job, "said the European champion from 1996." Above all, I am pleased that we have taken the German flag again more clearly in our appearance. I think that's a nice statement, and we are also fulfilling the wishes of many fans. "

National team player Serge Gnabry from FC Bayern München also commented positively: "The jersey has style, and I also like the stripes in black, red and gold very well."
