Merseburg - Syrian refugee involved in knife attack

The whole thing happened around 18:50 in an apartment building. According to Mitteldeutsche Zeitung information, a 21-year-old man of Syrian origin is said to have been attacked by a 48-year-old German and injured with a knife. According to witnesses, he was stabbed several times by a knife.

The elder suffered a cut in the neck area. He is receiving treatment in a hospital. The police have temporarily arrested him. There was already a knife fight in the cathedral city on Friday. Witnesses discovered a 40-year-old man with stab wounds in an apartment building on Erzbergerstrasse and informed the authorities. The injured man came to the hospital and had to undergo emergency surgery. A 33-year-old Halle resident was provisionally arrested as a suspect.
