Argentina announced that it will present a controversial project on the use of social networks

The Secretary for Strategic Affairs and head of the Economic and Social Council (CES), Gustavo Beliz, assured today that this body believes in "the Argentina of the social pact" and turns its back on "the country of social hatred." In that sense, he said that "agreement and consensus are possible" and announced that the office he leads managed to agree on "several projects" to be implemented in the coming months.

Thus, Beliz announced that the Government is preparing a controversial project on the use of social networks. "We are going to deepen the central guidelines for the use of social networks for the common good," he said, explaining that the objective is to prevent them from "intoxicating the spirit of our democracy."

At the Kirchner Cultural Center (CCK), Beliz was in charge of opening the conference, which was headed by President Alberto Fernández, in which the main axes for the implementation of the Productive Argentina Plan 2030 were presented.

“We are going to deepen the central guidelines in the use of social networks for the common good. We are working with a pioneering study that marks and proposes a pact for the good use of social networks and that they stop intoxicating the spirit of our democracy,” said Beliz, detailing: “We are not doing it alone. We have summoned 40 universities in Argentina to think about and propose these initiatives”.

Regarding the Productive Argentina Plan 2030, it was explained that these proposals will include the holding of multisectoral roundtables throughout the country, together with governors and representatives of unions, business chambers, academia and civil society.

Prior to the technical explanations given by the Minister of Production Matías Kulfas, the Secretary of Strategic Affairs spoke about the spirit of the Council and its work because "the idea is to restart in a better way in a beloved Argentina, which means putting an ear to the periphery and in the discarded ones, to renounce the selfishness of power, the ideological trap and the self-reference of figuration”.

Together with the head of state and the head of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Massa, Beliz specified that "restarting better is being countercultural and that is what we are doing here with works of encounter, with real events and not with empty words."

And he maintained that “the organized community sent a signal to all of us who make up this Council, since the only option at present is social friendship or dependency, because we have to refound relational goods, those that indicate how we relate as compatriots".

“We must have trust, consistency, sensitivity and fidelity,” he stressed.

In addition, the Buenos Aires leader pointed out that “without a spirit of edifying dialogue, nothing is possible. Agreement and consensus are possible and this was demonstrated with several projects that we managed to reach consensus on”, he highlighted.

In the same sense, he continued: “It is about finding diagonals of agreements based on social inclusion, with audacity, with creativity, with calm and with soul”.

"The Argentina of the possible expands every day with the popular inventiveness that aims to improve from social friendship and silent work that seeks to weave community harmony and not with chronic fights or provocative emotions, which generate discord and divide", he sentenced.

Closing his speech, he warned that “if the slogan is an eye for an eye, Argentina will be blind. Social love and collective intelligence”, reiterated the head of the CES as key concepts.

In the CCK auditorium, the chief of staff Juan Manzur, other members of the Cabinet, governors, trade unionists, businessmen and representatives of social movements were present.
