Before the G7 summit in Germany: Eight police buses burned down by left-wing activists


Munich - A few days before the G7 summit at Schloss Elmau, eight riot police buses went up in flames in Munich. The vehicles burned out completely this morning. They parked in front of a hotel housing officials for the G7 summit.

Investigators suspect arson. In connection with the forthcoming summit of the heads of state and government of the seven most important western industrialized countries, the perpetrators are suspected to be in the left-wing extremist scene. Shortly after the crime, the police searched for the suspects with a helicopter, but were unable to arrest them

Several hundred thousand euros in damage
The squad cars burned out completely. The damage is in the hundreds of thousands of euros. Nobody got hurt.

The G7 summit will take place from June 26th to 28th at Schloss Elmau near Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The heads of state and government of the USA, Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Japan and Canada will meet there under the leadership of Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD).
