Shooting in a gay bar in Oslo - Suspect from Iran detained

Two people have been killed and there are several "seriously injured" among 10 others rushed to hospital after shootings by a gay nightclub in Oslo - with police calling it an "active" situation.

Emergency services rushed to the London pub, on Rosenkrantz Road, in the city centre after receiving reports of gunfire around 1.15am.

Panic spread with as many as "20 shots" fired in the street by the nightclub and people ran for shelter.

The police do not want to comment on the type of weapon used, but at the moment it seems that only firearms have been used. Police say they have found two firearms. A Norwegian citizen of Iranian origin was arrested.

Aftenposten's reporter on the spot has spoken to a witness, who did not see but heard the incident. According to the person in question, there should be no doubt that this is an automatic weapon.
