New Year's Eve in Berlin: Arrest of 111 people with a migration background


The Berlin police arrested 145 people on New Year's Eve.

Berlin - As the Welt reports, there are 111 people who immigrated to Germany themselves or are descendants of immigrants. Among the 100 arrested without a German passport were 27 Afghans and 21 Syrians. Of the 45 people with German nationality, eleven had another nationality: three from Turkey, two from Lebanese and one each from Tunisian and Romanian , Jordanian, Iraqi and French.

For one person, the second nationality was unclear. About a quarter of those arrested because of the New Year's Eve violence in Berlin therefore have dual citizenship.
