Germany: Police stop armed Syrian in front of kindergarten
Aschaffenburg - The police in Aschaffenburg, Bavaria, overpowered a Syrian who had entered the grounds of a kindergarten armed with a knife. According to the police, the 30-year-old was mentally confused, the Bild newspaper reported.
When the Syrian entered the garden of the children's facility on Thursday, the teachers reacted immediately and brought the children into the house. The officers who were then alerted were able to incapacitate the man with pepper spray.
After the operation, Red Cross staff looked after the kindergarten employees and their children, as well as the parents. Nothing is yet known about the reason for the Syrian's behavior.
